In this interview, Managing Director Veeranjaneyulu Kambhampalli reflects on the brand’s award-winning innovations and experience at SIAL India 2024.

Why did you choose to participate in SIAL India 2024, and what is your takeaway?

We participated in SIAL India 2024 because it is a global platform that allows businesses to showcase food products and connect with industry leaders. For Semis Foods Private Limited, it was an opportunity to present our Nutrivise Xtreme brand and its products to a wider audience and learn from the best in the industry. Our key takeaway was the strong interest in millet-based foods, reaffirming that health and sustainability are driving consumer choices worldwide.

Millets are increasingly being recognised as a superfood. Could you share why they are important and how they fit into modern healthy snacking?

Millets are nutrient-rich, gut-friendly and require minimal water to cultivate, making them both healthy for consumers and sustainable for the planet. They are high in fibre, protein and minerals, which makes them ideal for modern diets that need balance and long-lasting energy.

You won the Bronze Award for Nutrivise Xtreme. Can you tell us more about the concept behind it?

Nutrivise Xtreme was created with the vision of making millets accessible in modern, ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook formats. The idea was to bridge traditional Indian nutrition with the demands of today’s busy lifestyle. Winning the Bronze Award for Food Innovations validated our effort to combine health, convenience and taste in one product line.

What distinguishes Nutrivise Xtreme from competitors in the functional food category?

Our focus is on millet-based functional foods designed specifically to support lifestyle disease management such as diabetes and obesity. Unlike many brands that focus only on taste or only on health, Nutrivise Xtreme brings both together. We emphasise clean label ingredients, high nutritional density and recipes tailored for consumers seeking healthier and convenient options. All our products are developed in line with stringent food safety and quality standards, ensuring both trust and innovation for our customers.

Since winning, have you noticed tangible results (sales, awareness, new deals)?

Yes, absolutely. The award has increased brand visibility and created new B2B opportunities, both within India and internationally. We have also seen stronger consumer trust and improved traction across marketplaces such as Amazon and Flipkart. It has opened conversations with distributors and retail partners who are actively looking for innovative, health-focused products.

Do you have new formulas or innovations in preparation?

Yes, our R&D team is actively working on expanding our millet-based portfolio. We are developing high protein snacks, fortified mixes, and convenient single serve packs aimed at young professionals, families, and children. A key focus is creating healthy, millet-based alternatives to replace junk foods, ensuring taste and nutrition go hand in hand. Innovation for us is about meeting modern nutritional needs while staying rooted in sustainable, traditional ingredients.
